The new Swedish electric flagship is a four -door coupe: low and carved lines, aluminum platform, all -wheel drive and up to 884 HP. Prices from about 120,000 euros
With the Polestar 5unveiled in preview at the Monaco Motor Show, the Swedish brand raises the bar in terms of performance and ambitions. It is the pointed car of the brand, as well as the most powerful ever built: a four -door electric GT that remains faithful to the spirit of the 2020 concept precedent, from which it inherits both the proportions from show car and the technological vision. The project starts from a completely new platform, developed internally, oriented to performance but with strong attention to efficiency and sustainability.
Filant lines
–
Just 1.42 meters high and 5.08 long, Polestar 5 has elegant proportions that recall those of a classic Gran Turismo, but with a sculpted and modern design. The front is dominated by the “Dual Blade” bright signature, now distinctive of the brand, while at the rear the absence of the rear window stands out, replaced by a camera and a digital rear view mirror, as already seen on Polestar 4. The profile is particularly streamlined thanks also to the reduced height and the lowered hood, obtained thanks to a sophisticated suspension solution. Inside, the setting is that of a four -seater coupe, but a 4+1 configuration is also available, thanks to the rear armrest transformable into a fifth emergency seat.
refined mechanics
–
The technological heart of Polestar 5 is the new Polestar Performance Architecture (PPA) platform. The body is made of high resistance aluminum with glued joints, a technique derived from motorsport that allows very high torsional rigidity and a weight reduction of 30-40% compared to a steel structure. Up to 35% of aluminum is recycled, and the lowest area of the car integrates a compact steel element to improve safety in the crash tests. The suspensive system is one of the key elements: double front and rear dual scheme, with internal attacks on the wheel channel. This made it possible to keep the hood lower, improving aerodynamics and while keeping space on board. As standard there are Magneride shock absorbers, 21 “wheels (22” optional) and 4 -piston Brembo brakes with 400 mm discs both at the front and at the rear.
The power is not lacking
–
The Polestar 5 will initially be proposed in two versions, both with all -wheel drive. The base delivers 550 kW (748 hp) and 812 Nm, while the most powerful, called performance, reaches 650 kW (884 hp) and 1,015 Nm. The completely new rear engine has been designed specifically for this model. The 0-100 km/h acceleration takes place in 3.2 seconds, while the maximum speed is limited to 250 km/h. The battery is 112 kWh, with 800 volt architecture and NMC technology, compatible with ultra -praise top -ups up to 350 kW. The declared autonomy varies between 565 km (performance version) and up to 670 km for the basic version.
Watch out for sustainability
–
The aluminum platform is only one of the elements that reflects Polestar’s commitment in environmental sustainability. In addition to the aforementioned recycled aluminum, Polestar 5 uses innovative materials in the interiors, with intelligent use of the fiber and eco-design. The result is a high -performance car that however looks to the environmental impact along the entire production cycle.
Equipment and prices
–
There is also a cutting -edge technological sector: standard automotive android system, a Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 21 speakers, seats with massage function also rear and complete adas equipment. The arrival on the market is scheduled for 2025
