Polder boards worried about reform plans
Polder boards headed by a dyke manager are concerned with water policy in a specific region. An important assignment, especially in periods of drought and flooding. The polder authorities want their expertise to be preserved and want to operate according to the Dutch model, per basin or watercourse. The Flemish government emphasizes that nothing has been decided yet. Discussions are underway and a decision will not be made until the autumn.
