Those who have cherished the Pokémon games will undoubtedly be familiar with their developer, Game Freak, which has been responsible for the franchise since 1996. Soon, however, they will venture into uncharted territory. Instead of a creature-collecting game, Game Freak’s upcoming title, *Beast of Reincarnation*, is set to be an action RPG that carries a cinematic flair. Published by Fictions, previously known as Private Division, this new release promises to surprise even the most seasoned Pokémon fans.

Is the Pokémon Studio Ready for Action RPGs?

p Beast of Reincarnation* isn’t a brand-new announcement; it was initially revealed under its project name in 2023. The official title, along with a gameplay trailer, was showcased during the Xbox Games Showcase last year. According to the latest updates, this game is set to launch on August 4, 2026, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Set in an alternate version of Japan in the year 4026, *Beast of Reincarnation* features the 18-year-old Emma, an outsider afflicted by a plague, and her companion, a dog named Kuu. Together, they embark on a mission to liberate post-apocalyptic Japan from a corrupted entity referred to as the “Beast of Rebirth.” This novel premise, imbued with magical elements and rich storytelling, is bound to be captivating.

Drawing Inspiration from Iconic Titles

Developed as a turn-based action RPG with a real-time combat system, the game is humorously dubbed as a “one-dog ARPG.” The combat mechanics are inspired by other notable titles from East Asia, such as Black Myth: Wukong, Nier: Automata, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. This combination of mechanics could attract fans of challenging combat systems while also drawing in those who appreciate narrative depth.

Pricing and Editions

As for pricing, the standard edition of Beast of Reincarnation will retail for €55, while a Deluxe Edition, priced at €64, will come with additional in-game content like extra skins for Kuu. Pre-ordering the game will reward enthusiasts with one of these exclusive skins and 30,000 amber stones, offering a tantalizing incentive to jump in early.
