At the Pogi Challenge the world champion confirmed Gazzetta’s revelation about the physical problems he had in the last week of the 2025 Boucle: “A three-week race is the biggest challenge”
A party, this was the Pogi Challenge in Slovenia dedicated to the world number one: Tadej Pogacar enjoyed the affection of his fans the day after his fifth, historic success at the Giro di Lombardia. Speaking with the Slovenian media, in particular with the siol.net portal, Pogi also returned to the last Tour and confirmed the revelation in the Gazzetta of 23 September regarding physical problems with a knee in the final part: “The day after the stage with arrival on Mont Ventoux, I had problems with my knee and I began to doubt whether I could continue, whether I could resist the queen stage – his words – And then, in the stage with arrival in La Plagne, the weather was also terrible. It was cold and my body was in defensive mode. I was retaining fluids because my body was in shock. I had had enough of everything, I wasn’t really feeling my best. But I think any cyclist who has ever done a Grand Tour knows that three weeks is no mean feat. After the first week you are already tired and then you still have two more weeks ahead. I don’t think anyone goes home rested, especially after the Tour de France”.
