Actor and presenter Antti Holma talks about the case when his spouse’s ex-partner came to visit the couple’s apartment in his Antti matka podcast.
Holma’s spouse is a French harpist Emmanuel “Manu” Ceyssonwhich Holma addresses as “French potato”.
– French potato’s ex came to visit, can you imagine? Holma says in the podcast.
Holma describes the situation as difficult because she has not had similar experiences before.
– I was sworn to be single, a lonely person. There have been no spouses whose former partners come for a check-up visit, because of course that was the point.
– He will check the living quarters of his former partner, whether they are good, practical and especially, whether his current spouse is good enough. And is there perhaps a chance to feel some kind of superiority in relation to that new spouse, Holma adds.
Holma begins to tell more about the encounter with her husband’s ex-partner. He immediately noticed cultural differences. While Holma offered a hand as a Finn, Ceysson’s ex-partner offered to give kisses on the cheek.
– I noticed that he is terribly handsome and incredibly stylish in a way that maybe French people like that can be stylish, Holma praises.
Holma talks about the moment they met and describes that she felt like a resident of Moomin Valley, trying to perform the best swimming jump.
– But when he goes to perform it, he falls on the platform of the swimming room in such a way that he just falls into the water.

Holma’s spouse’s ex-partner had asked Holma if she knew French. Holma answered him in the affirmative.
– In that situation, I realized that this was what all those French lessons were for, which have become harder and harder, Holma says.
According to Holma, their meeting was not long, but he says that he let the ex-couple have dinner alone to discuss all the years that have passed.
– After that I lay on the kitchen floor and the Sasu dog licked my face because it was hard.
The ex-partner, who works as a perfumer, had also given Holma a perfume from his own company. Holma tells in the podcast how he had initially hoped the perfume would be bad.
– You may be handsome, charming and a successful perfumer, but this perfume of yours smells awful. But that didn’t happen, I’m still wearing that perfume right now, Holma says.
Holma finds a positive outcome from meeting her spouse’s ex-partner.
– It’s good that you can think about how high your spouse’s standards have been. I’m actually just now realizing this. I thought it would be wonderful if someone from the land of mortar lumps had come from there.
– Now that I think about it, this means that if he has been with me even longer than with him, it means that he might even love me, Holma concludes her reflection.
