Plea to overhaul requirements for new teachers: now you can do it in 384 ways

The differences between teachers who have graduated from countless courses are too great, the Education Council believes. The important advisory body proposes to establish nationally what a new teacher should know and be able to do. There must also be one final test to guarantee the quality of all prospective teachers, drawn up by the government.
