A flight that was supposed to land at Eindhoven Airport on Wednesday evening ultimately diverted to Amsterdam due to a drone in the airspace. Another flight was delayed by the drone.

The plane that diverted to Amsterdam came from Alicante. This concerns HV6624. A plane from Málaga (HV6652) was delayed by the drone and landed at the airport fifteen minutes later.

“We are not sure whether it is a drone, but drones around an airport are nothing new of course,” says a spokesperson for Eindhoven Air Base. According to the spokesperson, the flight from Alicante is the only diverted flight.

Drone above Eindhoven Airport
Drones around airports are indeed nothing new, not even in Eindhoven. On Saturday evening, November 22, air traffic was halted for several hours after reports of several drones above Eindhoven Airport.

Due to the disruption of the airspace, aircraft could not take off and land because the drones created a dangerous situation.
