A fresh water pipe broke in the Fennpfuhl district of Lichtenberg on Thursday evening.

According to BZ information, over 300 apartments with around 500 residents are affected. The Berliner Wasserbetriebe and a commissioned specialist company are trying to repair the damage as quickly as possible

The district office’s disaster control officer, Philipp Cachée, and the police are on site and coordinating the measures.

The water company has now set up hydrants where residents can fetch water with buckets.

The reason for the accident is not yet known.
