The Esposito brothers do not forget their origins. Last November they handed over the pitch of the Cicerone district, the neighborhood in which they grew up, to the city of Castellammare. That square of concrete stuck between the buildings was ruined by time. It had rusty doors and a damaged cover. Salvatore, Sebastiano and Pio financed the modernization works, giving the kids a new space to have fun with football. Now, the three brothers have kept another promise. With an official press release they announced that they had acquired 100% of the shares of Voluntas Brescia, the club from which they started thanks to Roberto Clerici. “Being owners of this company is a dream come true – said Salvatore Esposito, Spezia midfielder during the conference -. It is a sign of recognition for Clerici, the first person to have believed in us. We support the project, our family is on the front line. We promised it to Roberto”.

Heartfelt choice

The Esposito family became the sole owners of the club founded by Clerici, the historic talent discoverer. Many young people who have become champions have passed through the San Filippo sports center: Pirlo, Acerbi, Baronio, Diana, Corini, Bonera. Everyone wore the Voluntas shirt. “We were 50% members of the club which today has over 250 members – declared Sebastiano, Cagliari striker -. We completed the acquisition out of gratitude. We will try to pass on to the kids the values that Clerici taught us”. Dad Agostino will remain responsible for the technical sector: “Young people must be left free to have fun. Calm and patience are needed. Parents must have faith in our coaches.” Pio Esposito was absent from the conference because he was called up to the national team by coach Gattuso: “He is experiencing an important moment, we are trying to protect him – reiterated Salvatore -. He is an integral part of the project, every decision also passes through him”.

Shared dream

Salvatore and Sebastiano continue to divide their time between commitments on the pitch and work with the young people of Voluntas: “We lived on bread and football – added Seba -. We like to be in contact with the children who are trying to undertake our path. Listening to their needs and giving them advice is fundamental”. Clerici bet on the talent of the Esposito brothers by convincing them to move from Castellammare to Brescia, thus their career began. In the San Filippo sports center there is a statue dedicated to him. His boys never forgot him.
