Pieter Derks has caused annoyance to Evert Santegoeds, one of the stars of Shownieuws on SBS 6, with his New Year’s Eve conference. “I was quite bored!”
It was not at all to the liking of Privé boss Evert Santegoeds: Pieter Derks’ New Year’s Eve conference. He really found it terribly boring to sit through. “I wouldn’t have stayed home for that. I had high expectations for it in advance, but I was still quite bored,” he says in the podcast Strictly Private.
‘Took a very long time’
Pieter wasn’t catchy enough, Evert thinks. “I really thought… Between the jokes you could get a drink and so on. And one more. It often took a very long time. Really, that political analysis with Duk Schoof… Well, sorry, is that all you can say about that man? That’s really… That man is doing his best.”
He continues: “I just had the idea that Pieter Derks was not quite at home on that enormous stage with those strange surfaces behind it and that little orchestra.”
Open heart surgery
Pieter’s outfit was also terrible, according to the magazine maker. “Yes, what was he doing?! That’s a shirt you would normally perform open heart surgery in! What was that weird thing? No, it wasn’t fun to watch and I didn’t think it was worth repeating. Then you really start to long for Peter Pannekoek.”
“I thought it was very disappointing and very unfortunate,” he says. And he doesn’t understand the laughing audience at all. “I thought: what are you laughing about?”
