Picard Lederwaren GmbH & Co. KG has reorganized its management team. As part of the structural reform, Martin Picard was promoted to CEO.

Picard, who has been working as Director of Sales at the company since last summer, took up his new position on January 1st, the Obertshausen-based accessories specialist announced on Monday. The appointment represents “an exciting generational change in German medium-sized businesses – with a clear distribution of roles, a digital mindset and the aspiration to further develop an almost 100-year-old brand in a future-proof manner.”

Before moving to the traditional company founded and run by his family, Martin Picard built “Störtebekker, one of the most successful German DTC brands in the grooming segment” and brings with him “a strong start-up mindset,” explained the leather goods provider.

After the appointment of the new CEO, Georg Picard will concentrate “fully on the creative core areas of the company” as Managing Director of Product & Design, according to a statement. He is now responsible for the areas of design, production and pattern making.

The management team also includes Chief Operating Officer (COO) Rafael Belzer, who, according to the company, continues to be “responsible for the operational and administrative areas – purchasing, logistics, warehouse, finance, HR and IT”.
