Photo exhibition Gronings Gas 2.0 in Loppersum shows the present, past and future of gas extraction in Groningen

In the middle of the Groningen earthquake area, in the old presbytery in Loppersum, the exhibition ‘Gronings Gas 2.0’ will open on Thursday 30 March.

The subject of this photo exhibition is (past, present and future of) gas extraction in Groningen. This is done on the basis of a timeline, starting with the discovery of natural gas in Groningen in 1954.

Participating photographers are Jan Zeeman, Kees van de Veen, Anjo de Haan, Corné Sparidaens and Joost Nuijten.

The exhibition was already on display in Groningen in 2019. The 2.0 version shows what has happened since then.

The exhibition runs until July 1 and can be visited for free every Thursday to Saturday from 12:00 to 17:00.
