Breakthrough in the Philippe poker: HSV and BTSV unite

The transfer poker around striker Rayan Philippe has now been running for weeks. Now the Hamburger SV and Philippe’s employer Eintracht Braunschweig are said to have approached decisively. In the room there is a transfer fee of 2.5 to 3.5 million euros. It had been filed around this in the past few days. On Monday, the Frenchman, who scored a total of 14 goals for Eintracht in the past season, had already flown to Hamburg. The first training session in HSV preparation will take place on Wednesday from 2 p.m.
Hamburger SV apparently starts preparing for the first Bundesliga season in seven years without its striker Davie Selke. According to a report by the “kicker”, the 30-year-old does not have to appear on the performance tests or the medical examinations that take place on Monday and Tuesday.
Selke’s contract expires this Monday, so far there is no agreement on an extension. It is therefore expected that the striker, who had a large part of the promotion with 22 goals last season, will leave the club after only one year. The training start at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
It is still unclear whether Rayan Philippe will soon be a Selke’s successor in the HSV storm. Negotiations with Eintracht Braunschweig about a transfer of the 24-year-old according to “Kicker” should be well advanced. However, there is still no agreement on the transfer fee – it is therefore unclear whether Philippe can be there at the start of the training.
The change from Rayan Philippe to Hamburger SV is on the home straight – but not yet perfect. Although the French attacker has already been released from training at Eintracht Braunschweig and has clearly known to the HSV, negotiations between the two clubs continue.
According to “Bild”, there is now a concrete written offer from Hamburg, but details such as bonus payments and a resale clause are therefore still being filed. The transfer fee should be between 2.5 and 3 million euros.
Despite the delay, the fact that Philippe wears the HSV jersey on next season is very likely.

Hamburger SV will compete at FC Bayern Munich on the 3rd matchday of the upcoming Bundesliga season. According to the HSV, the game takes place between September 12 and 14, 2025 in the Allianz Arena.
The German Football League (DFL) officially publishes the full schedule for the Bundesliga season 2025/26 on Friday, June 27th. However, individual information has already been communicated to the clubs.
After the return to the Bundesliga, HSV is the first away game at the German champion FC Bayern Munich. The complete game plan will be communicated on Friday via the club’s official channels.
It was only on Friday (2 p.m.) that the DFL released the complete game schedule for the new season in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga. Surprisingly, the league released the opening game of the 1st league on Thursday morning: Master Bayern Munich welcomes RB Leipzig in the Allianz Arena on August 22nd (8:30 p.m.).
