Philipp Horn came third in the sprint on Friday and had the best conditions for the pursuit. But a fall slowed him down.

He didn’t take advantage of his chance in the pursuit as desired: On Friday, Philipp Horn finished third in the sprint and thus had the best conditions for the race on Saturday. The German initially showed a strong performance there, but in the end he narrowly missed the podium due to a fall and came fourth (+47.80).

The victory went to the Frenchman Eric Perrot (30:06.20) ahead of the Italian Tommaso Giacomel (+10.20) and the Norwegian Johan-Olav Botn (+29.00).

After the race, Horn said about his crash: “I was annoyed because it was so stupid. I thought I was taking a risk on the inside of the curve, it was too much risk.” Philipp Nawrath, another German, ended up in tenth place and explained afterwards that he still had to get better at running.

Philipp Horn took off in third place and stayed close to the Italian Tommaso Giacomel and the Frenchman Eric Perrot. At the first prone attempt, all three made no mistakes and once again pulled away as a trio. Philipp Nawrath missed once. He finished in 16th place, one place behind Justus Strelow. On the cross-country ski trail, Frenchman Émilien Jacquelin came close to the leading trio.

In the second shooting, Perrot showed a brilliant performance and left the shooting range first. He was closely followed by Giacomel and then Horn, who also kept his nerve. Nawrath and Strelow also made it through without making any mistakes and joined the large chasing group.

Suddenly Horn fell in a curve on the track and then lost a stick. The German lost time, ended up in fifth place and had to work hard to close the gap to the front. Nawrath and Strelow were in 12th and 13th place at this point.

Giacomel and Jaquelin made a mistake in the standing position. However, Horn also suffered this fate. All three had to complete a penalty lap. Perrot remained in the lead ahead of Giacomel and Norwegian Johan-Olav Botn. Horn stayed in sixth place. Nawrath made no mistakes and was in tenth place at the time. Strelow also had to complete a penalty lap.

In the final shooting, Perrot showed a flawless performance, as did Horn, who left the shooting range in fourth place. In front of him lay Giacomel and Botn. Nawrath defended his tenth place, Strelow had to complete two penalty laps. He was 17th.
