Johan Derksen thinks Peter van der Vorst is very naive when he thought he could hurt inside today by hitting some talk showers. “You can’t put us a heel,” says the Televisiesnor.
From the outset it was doomed to fail: RTL Tonight. You would think that TV boss Peter van der Vorst still remembers the debacle with John de Mol’s road seller, but for his prestige project on the late evening of RTL 4 he applied the same tactics: buying big names away from the competitor, hoping to score with it himself.
Bought away ordinary
Peter bought Inside, for example, Albert Verlinde, Ben van der Burg and Lale Gül away at today. They left the number one talk show in the Netherlands, to now indicate current events for one and a half men and a horse’s head.
Johan Derksen thinks it was laughable. He says in the podcast Greetings from Grolloo: “They have attracted clients for a lot of money. They just bought them away ordinary, hey? John de Mol said:” I’m not going to be above that, because that’s irresponsible. “
Don’t put a heel
The viewing figures of VI have not been damaged by Peters Wegkoopmaneuvre. Logical, says Johan. “You can’t put us a heel, because the three of us are the heart of the program and with all due respect: the people who sit down with us, those are actually extras who are allowed to talk. The three of us are the program.”
Albert was a good addition to VI, he thinks. The show connoisseur has been destructive about RTL Tonight on the radio. “I think they are shocked by Albert. He has spoken from the bottom of his heart,” says Johan.
For the money
It is a pity that Albert has opted for the money, says Johan. “Look, Albert was with us and fit perfectly in our picture. He was ordering and the next day also got those wave of reactions over him, often positive reactions, and he is now in a program where no positive reactions about at all come in.”
What is the big problem of RTL Tonight? The desk, he thinks. “You communicate at a table and not in a row.”
