Shownieuws was the first news medium to announce on Friday that Peter Gillis allegedly assaulted his girlfriend Nicol Kremers and then spent a night in jail. That assault and arrest would have taken place on May 29. A day later, the day of his alleged release, he was shown live on television in the evening.

Live on television

At the time, Peter was a guest in the Shownieuws Summer Edition, which had its very first broadcast that evening. He sat next to Airen Mylene, Bart Ettekoven, Patty Brard and Natacha Harlequin. “Nicol was still there and Natacha, you were there too. They didn’t seem shocked at all,” Bart looks back.

Bart thinks it’s very strange. “It is of course also because you do not think about it, but if this story is correct, he was imprisoned in a police cell that night before that broadcast that we sat here and had a nice talk about the new season.”

Oscar worthy

Bart says that Peter and Nicol had a great time that evening. If that abuse is really true, then that was a very strange situation, he thinks. “Then they really have to go for an Oscar, because they were very nice and friendly with each other and there was no sign of any tension at all.”

Colleague Dyantha Brooks: “That in itself wouldn’t be the first time in showbiz. I mean: the show must go onfor that matter, you are professional.”

Inappropriate

Bart: “You could say that if something like this happened on a Sunday evening and that the police were involved, it’s a bit inappropriate to play together here the next day for a bit of nice weather. Nobody would have thought it strange if he had come here alone.”

What if Peter really is not the man who has to appear on August 12? “Then we as media may also have to scratch our heads sometimes: how could it have gone so wrong? Anyway, our crime editors are really on top of this and they have been in contact with several people. Quite a few fingers are pointing his way.”

“How strange!”

Peter not only denies that he would have mistreated Nicol, but that he is the man who has to appear on August 12. “The Public Prosecution Service informs us that all parties involved are in any case aware of the fact that that case will occur on August 12, so if it does concern Peter Gillis, then he is lying about the fact that he knows nothing.”

“How weird is it if it does? He knows it will come true. Someone is due to appear in court on August 12. To say this so hard… Then we will of course never believe anything such a man says.”

Code red

Since mid-June, two weeks after the alleged assault, Peter and Nicol have suddenly been working with their own ‘code’ to combat fake news. If they are in the news with things that are not right, they issue a ‘code red’, without giving any further explanation. In such cases, the lack of further explanation is of course convenient for them.

Also now Peter and Nicol have issued a ‘code red’. Juice channels think that ‘code’ was made up quickly after that alleged abuse:
