Peter Bosz gives substitutes a chance but also wants to help the treasurer

The match between PSV and Arsenal on Tuesday evening is no longer about anything sportingly. Both teams continue in the Champions League and cannot rise or fall in the group. Nevertheless, there is still a nice bonus waiting for a victory on a financial level, but that will not stop Peter Bosz from resting some players tomorrow.

Even though there is nothing sportingly at stake tomorrow, PSV can still score a nice financial windfall. A victory in the Champions League earns the club 2.8 million euros. Nevertheless, Peter Bosz will make some changes in his starting team.

“If we can help the treasurer, we are happy to do so, but it is also a good time to give the substitutes some more playing time.”

“We want to make our supporters proud.”

At PSV, more and more players have been dropping out with an injury in recent weeks. Noa Lang, Hirving Lozano, Jerdy Schouten and Armel Bella Kotchap are normally basic players but will not be there on Tuesday evening. That’s why a competition for the proverbial emperor’s beard is a good time.

“When I ask the players if they want to play on Tuesday, all 24 of them will say yes. But we also look at whether they are fit enough and that is not the case with some. Fortunately, we as staff make the decisions.”

Arsenal will also probably field a B team on Tuesday. But Bosz is still curious whether his team has progressed beyond the first match against Arsenal. Then PSV lost 4-0. “I know that we are better than then, but what matters to me is whether we have learned from that match. Ultimately, the stadium will be full again and we want to make our supporters proud. That is perhaps the most important principle.”
