The military infrastructure of Ukraine was largely destroyed during the Russian special operation, press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with the Belarus 24 TV channel.

“Demilitarization is indeed in full swing, the military potential, the military infrastructure of Ukraine has been largely destroyed during the special operation of our armed forces. This is indeed one of the goals of this operation,” Peskov said.

As other goals of the operation, the Kremlin spokesman indicated the rescue of the inhabitants of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and the restoration of their statehood within the borders of 2014, as well as the denazification of Ukraine, since “representatives of nationalist elements” are in power in the country. Peskov expressed the hope that all the goals of these military operations would be fulfilled.

Nebenzia announced the imminent completion of the tasks of “demilitarization of Ukraine”

Almost the same tasks were voiced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, announcing the start of a special operation on February 24th. Three days earlier, he recognized the independence of the LPR and the DPR precisely within the borders that were enshrined in the constitutions of the republics of 2014, that is, the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s regions, and not in those actually controlled by the republics as of February 2022.
