On January 15, Sergei Demedyuk, deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said that hackers linked to Belarusian intelligence could be behind the cyberattack.

Behind the current attack, in his opinion, is the UNC1151 group, which carried out attacks against Ukraine, as well as the structures of Lithuania, Latvia and Poland.

He noted that the hackers used malware similar to that used by the APT 29 group (Cozy Bear). She has been linked to Russian intelligence and accused of hacking into the servers of the Democratic National Committee in 2016.
