Peru’s prime minister resigns four days after appointment

Peruvian Prime Minister Hector Valer Pinto resigned four days after his appointment transmits RPP radio.

This happened after the appeal of the National Society of Industry of Peru (SNI) to President Pedro Castillo. In it, the SNI called Pinto’s appointment a “major attack” on democracy and stability in Peru. Prior to this, local media, including the newspaper El Comercio, reportedthat in 2016 the prime minister’s wife accused him of domestic violence against herself and her daughter.

Pinto himself called the statements false and added that he was going to go to court.
