In general, Barca and Real have been very unlucky with injuries this season. The former’s defense takes care of itself with the additional absences of Alonso, Inigo and Roberto, although the Catalans have great talent in their B team. Cubarsi has done very well the last two games; Hector Fort, who can play all positions at the back, also did very well defensively against Athletic in the cup. Should Faye also get back into better shape, there will at least be quantitative replacements in the IV and RV positions and, in Fort and Cancelo, two players who can fill both full-back positions. Of course, the experience factor is missing among youth players. But I think the likelihood of Barcelona winning the title this season seems rather low anyway (although not impossible), so you can build up these young players with Fermin and Yamal in order to attack next season with a new six and a little more experience can.
