The Hamburg Marathon is overshadowed by a tragic incident. One participant collapses a few kilometers before the finish.
The 39th edition of the Hamburg Marathon is overshadowed by an emergency. As chief organizer Frank Thaleiser announced, a participant collapsed a few kilometers before the finish and had to be resuscitated. The person was then taken to a hospital.
He also did not receive more information about the state of health, explained Thaleiser. He emphasized: “For data protection reasons, this will not be communicated to us.” There was also no information about age, gender and nationality.
