Fitness influencer Pernilla Böckerman commented on Instagram about the boat trip of ocean rower Jari Saario, who served as an indoor rowing coach. Saario, which was in distress at sea in the South Atlantic, was picked up aboard the merchant ship Cymona Eagle early on Sunday around 2:30 a.m. Finnish time.
Böckerman is relieved by the news.
– I have consciously distanced myself from Jari’s new journey. I knew the risk and I was afraid of this, Böckerman writes.

Böckerman says that Saario visited him a few days before he left.
– Of course, he brought earplugs with him, since he knew that I like them a lot, Böckerman writes.
Böckerman says that it was important for Saario to make sure that Böckerman and his family are all right.
– There was a feeling in the air that I can’t really explain. Just a hint that this might be the last time I see Jar. Maybe that’s why he wanted to leave me alone, Böckerman reflects in his text.
– Jari knew the risks better than anyone else.
Böckerman also tells what he said to Saario when he hugged her before leaving.
– In the last hug, I said and hoped again: Please come back safe, Böckerman writes.
Saario has worked as Böckerman’s indoor rowing coach. Böckerman also chose Saari in autumn 2023 Dancing with the stars – to dance with him in the final broadcast of the program.
– Jari is simply the best and the most wonderful person in the world, Böckerman described to Iltalehte in connection with the program.
