Saeed A. (49) was caught stealing perfume from the “Müller”. And it wasn’t his first scent spree.

If the police are looking for you with an arrest warrant, you should try not to attract attention during a traffic stop. Otherwise there is a risk of quick arrest. As with Saeed A. (40), who sat in front of the magistrate on Thursday.

In February 2020, the father of three from Wedding and an accomplice at “Müller” in the East Side Mall (Friedrichshain) smuggled 11 bottles with noble smells, such as the Gucci Bloom Nettaire Fioro (139.40 euros for 100 ml) past the checkout want.

But the detective had a good nose. Watched the duo as they first put the perfumes and aftershaves in the basket, then later slipped them into a prepared Louis Vuitton bag. The two thieves were caught but released after a complaint was filed.

The surprise only followed later when the video material was evaluated: The accused and a male accomplice had already been on a perfume theft tour in this drugstore three times before. Had stolen fragrances from D&G, Prada, Versace… to the finest Tom Ford Oud Wood (100 ml/298 euros) for over 9,000 euros.

“He admits the deeds. He’s really sorry for you, too,” his attorney said for him. He certainly won’t do anything like that again. Finally leading an orderly life with a wife and child. And get out of Hartz IV with a job in gastronomy…

Before that, however, there is the receipt from the judge: 18 months in prison. For him as a parole breaker, of course, without parole. But with an exemption from detention. The judge: “Maybe you can find work that quickly…” Also to be able to pay back the damage done. The whole sum! The two accomplices have gone abroad.
