The United States has suddenly canceled the deployment of approximately 4,000 soldiers in Europe. That decision was announced on Wednesday during a meeting with the European Command of the US Army, ‘The Wall Street Journal’ and the specialized news site ‘Task and Purpose’ reported, based on information from an official.

The soldiers would be stationed in Poland for a nine-month mission. The American army had announced in March that the combat brigade would replace other troops. Some of the soldiers’ equipment was already on its way, making the decision a surprise to some military officials, The Wall Street Journal reported. The regional command would not have insisted on an immediate termination of the mission.
After the American decision, Poland stated that it was prepared to accept more American soldiers. Today, according to Polish President Karol Nawrocki, there are about 10,000 American troops stationed in the country, most of them on rotation with other military bases in Europe.
