– At the autumn competition, the photographer also said that I would look even more stylish if I had hair, says Kotipohja.
So he set to work. The investigation ended with an appointment. Soon Kotipohja was in Istanbul at a hair transplant clinic.
Kotipohja’s hair, 32, started thinning around the age of 26.

It’s been less than a week since the operation. There is still some swelling, but the worst problem is itching.
– During the first three nights, I got very little sleep. You have to sleep in a semi-sitting position, which is quite uncomfortable. In addition, the head itches.
The initial phase is the most important of all. Sweating, frostbite, hats and caps must be avoided.
– If you can’t obey the instructions now, things will go wrong.
– You can see the actual result of the operation only after about a year, but the success rate is really high if you only follow the instructions as best you can.

Kotipohja is glowing with how well the clinic had organized everything. He had to buy flights to Istanbul, after which the clinic took care of everything else.
– The hotels and transportation were organized in a first-class manner. At the same time, they filmed marketing material about me for their use, says Kotipohja.
Turkey has indeed become a very popular destination for this operation. First of all, it is much cheaper there than in Finland.
– If I were to throw an average, you can get it in Turkey for around 2,500–3,000 euros. For example, my doctor had worked for 20 years. So there are long traditions there.

The bodybuilder has talked openly about the operation on his Instagram account. It has been raining private messages.
– I’ve probably received 30 messages asking how much this cost and where I went to do it.
In Kotipohja’s opinion, there is no reason to worry about the subject. Even more, he encourages courage and openness.
– In my opinion, this is no more of an operation than, for example, microblading of the eyebrows. In the best case, a hair transplant can be a great help for a person’s self-esteem problems. I will be happy to answer anyone who is interested.
However, he emphasizes that it is worth doing the research carefully before booking flights to Turkey.
– Just after Googling hair transplant, you can be sure that the algorithms will start offering ads about it. Some advertise that the operation can be done for less than a ton.
– You should ask other people’s experiences of good clinics. It’s not worth taking the cheapest. From the social media profiles of some clinics, you can immediately see that the clinic has bought followers for itself.
