Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf becomes part of the ‘Fur Free Retailer Program’

A week after the creditors voted on the future of the Düsseldorf fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg KG, the latter is joining the ‘Fur Free Retailer Program’.

P&C has been campaigning for a fur-free range for years, and by joining the program, which provides customers with a list of fur-free retailers, the company is now taking responsibility for continuing to refrain from offering fur products, says Lena Böringschulte, Head of Sustainability at Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf in a statement from the animal welfare organization Four Paws.

Anne Wessendorf, Textile Campaigns Officer at the animal welfare organization, herself welcomes this decision and hopes that “this landmark decision” will continue to inspire retailers to join the program.

Only recently did the department store group Galeria join the ‘Fur Free Retailer Program’.
