From minimalist dresses to opulent skirts to retro gloves and futuristic 3D flowers-bridal fashion is more individual than ever in 2025.

“The trend is clearly towards diversity,” says Susan Lippe-Bernard, editor-in-chief of the magazine ‘Braut & Bräutigam’ in Münster. Instead of strict style, the focus is on personality and expression. Inspiration for the new bridal fashion comes from the fashion shows and social media. But: “The reality of the German bride is a bit tamer and more comfortable,” says Doris Nothhnagel, who runs a bridal fashion boutique in Stuttgart and a podcast around the wedding dress.

Which trends are emerging – an overview.

Minimalism in Clean-Chic style

Less is more-the clean chic look remains trendy. Simple wedding dresses made of high -quality fabrics, but without frills. “Clean-chic is the countermovement to the many top of the past few years and opulent dresses,” says Doris Nothnagel. The dresses range from figure-hugging silhouettes to flowing A-line forms. Deep back sections or subtle drapes look particularly elegant.

Pompous ball clothes with baskic waist

The opposite of the Clean-Chic are voluminous ball clothes with a emphasized waist. Designers: Discover the Basque waist on the inside-a deep-seated, V-shaped waist line. “Narrow and simple at the top, a megarock below” – this is how Susan Lippe -Bernard describes the trend. The skirt literally jumps on the hips due to the V-shaped corset. “It flatters many figures better than the elongated waist, which slips onto the hip and visually extends the upper body,” explains Nothnagel.

## structured corsages in the lingerie look

Corsagen experience a large revival, especially structured looks. They don’t just form the feminine silhouette. “With transparent elements, you are now getting a sensual note more and more,” says Lippe-Bernard. The corsages are reminiscent of modern lingerie and combine nostalgia with elegance.

Galia Lahav slits bring movement into the dress

Another trend that can be seen in bridal fashion in 2025 are sophisticated slots, says Lippe-Bernard. Thigh -high slots ensure a modern, self -confident note. “Not only do they put their legs in scene, they also make the dress particularly suitable for everyday use,” she says. Because the slots mean more freedom of movement for the bride. For the cleavage area, Nothnagel observes higher-fitting excerpts again. The following applies here: “A V-neck stretches the upper body, while a carpet neckline is often less flattering,” she says.

3D flowers with couture character

Flower applications have a tradition, they appear in a new dimension in 2025. “Large fabric flowers, for example a 70 centimeter rose, draped on the skirt, approach the couture fashion,” says Lippe-Bernard. The look is romantic, but not suitable for every bride. “A large 3D flower application can crush a delicate bride,” says Nothnagel.

Pearls are omnipresent again

Pearls experience a comeback. “You have lost the subtle m. Therefore, you can now see either “all over”, ie everywhere on the dress, or only on the skirt, top or accessory such as veils, gloves or hair tires. Particularly announced: “Transparent boleros with pearls that are carried through a simple dress,” said Lippe-Bernard. The look combines elegance with modern sophistication.

Filigree gloves and XXL veil

Another highlight in the new collections is long, filigree gloves. “They can also be transparent and with pearls and flowers,” says Lippe-Bernard. Also the order of the day: large veils – hip or soil long, which are attached with a hair comb. “He is taken away at the celebration, a flower sheet remains in the hair.”

2-in-1 dresses for altar and dance floor

“Many brides want to have a different look for walking to the altar than for the party,” says Lippe-Bernard. Here 2-in-1 dresses are practical: your sleeves, towing or upper skirts can be removed. According to the expert, such clothes are particularly useful because they meet different style requests. In addition, sustainability plays a role: Nothnagel emphasizes that brides also select your dress according to whether you can carry it out with small changes after the wedding.

## the right time for the wedding dress purchase

If you want to find your dream dress in good time, you should start searching at least eight months before the wedding, advises Lippe-Bernard. Bridal shops have to order many models and customize them individually. Early advice ensures that all wishes can be taken into account.
