Influx of 25,000 people highest in years
The Hague – The highest number of asylum applications in years is attributed to the crisis in Afghanistan, ongoing misery in Syria and fewer travel restrictions due to Covid-19. According to Statistics Netherlands (CBS), more than three thousand Afghans came to the Netherlands in 2021 and 8380 Syrians.
