He did it again. Athletics star Armand Duplantis is breaking a new record height in Budapest for the third time this year. Timing could hardly be better.

Armand “Mondo” Duplantis has set a record again. The Swede skipped 6.29 meters at the meeting in Budapest and thus set up his 13th world record. Then he had the fans and his colleagues celebrated.

“I want to jump 6.30 m as soon as possible, but I would also like to create 6.40 m,” the 25-year-old explained in June. This amount is “of course a crazy limit”, but for him “in the area of the possible”.

Since February 2020, when he survived the 6.17 meters from Renaud Lavillenie, Duplantis always joined the record lists. This year he already reaches 6.27 meters in Clermont ferred edge and 6.28 meters in Stockholm. An end to his height hunt does not seem to be in sight.

For the World Cup in Tokyo from September 13th to 21st, the Olympic champion of Tokyo and Paris starts with a clear goal: he wants to win his third outdoor title in a row.
