Roma, 29 Oct. (askanews) – A decalogue of good practices for the digital security of peoplein a world that increasingly lives in symbiosis with smartphones, computers and devices. Netgroup, a company active in cybersecurity, and the consumer association Udicon presented this handbook, which aims to help citizens defend themselves from the dangers of the internet.

“It is the invisible enemy of our times, the invisible enemy of our freedom – said Giuseppe Mocerino, president of Netgroup – of our data, of our future. How to combat it? With correct information, sharing, a great alliance, a great cooperation pact between companies, institutions and trade associations aimed at carrying forward the information campaign, raising awareness of the good practices to be activated to combat cyber crimes”.

Among the points highlighted by the “Connected Lives” decalogue are the security of passwords, updating devices, data backup, protection, cookies, but also attention to the recognizability of online scams, relying on safe suppliers and not illegal streaming, as well as a reasoned approach to artificial intelligence.

Cybersecurity – added Martina Donini, president of Udicon – is certainly one of the hottest topics in the last year. This is because cases of online scams are increasing. We are talking about phishings, missings, emails that reach citizens every day, phone calls, text messages. So today is very important because we try to present a decalogue that can be a practical guide, 10 good tips that we can do in our daily lives to try not to get scammed. Why protect our data at the moment and how to protect ourselves.”

The objective of the initiative is to create a culture of widespread digital security, capable of starting from individual behavior and reaching collective responsibility: because protecting one’s data now means protecting oneself and one’s community. And a testimony on identity theft was also given during the conference by Professor Matteo Bassetti, who spoke via link.
