Party in Veldhoven, because CDK JR wins Holland’s Got Talent: ‘Super cool!’

For a moment everyone went crazy in Veldhoven, because the young dancers of CDK JR have won the final of Holland’s Got Talent. The Eindhoven Jadey van de Kerkhof is one of them: a day after the broadcast of the final, she barely realizes what happened to her. “But it’s really cool to see it again.”

In 2018, the CDK JR dancer took her first European title. That was thirty years after her grandfather and PSV icon Willy van de Kerkhof won the European Cup for national champions with PSV. And this year she did it again, but now on national TV.

The final, which was broadcast on RTL4 on Friday evening, had nine other candidates, including three from Brabant. CDK JR himself comes from Veldhoven. And there the dancers also watched the final together, on a big screen in their home port, theater De Schalm.

“It was really cool to see it again,” says Jadey. “It really looks a lot nicer than I thought. It looks really good on the picture.”

“You’re just on TV!”

She can’t remember exactly when the final was shot. She thinks it was about three months ago. “Of course it was strange to see you again. You are just on TV! But otherwise it looked nice.”

The dance group also won 50,000 euros in the final. Not a small amount, so what on earth are you going to do with a group of thirteen girls and two boys? “Well, we want to participate in foreign competitions. That is our ambition.”

Because the final was filmed months ago, Jadey had to keep the secret to herself for months. “That was really difficult. A lot of friends of mine said: ‘You are going to win!’ But then I had to keep my mouth shut.”

When asked if she really didn’t tell anyone, her answer is a resolute ‘no’. “Not really!”
