A broken power cable meant that a large number of households in Laren, Blaricum, Eemnes and Hilversum had no power for a few hours. According to network operator Liander, at least 2,500 customers have been affected by the problems.
The cable broke during excavation work. Mechanics of grid operator Liander disconnected the damaged cable.
The power outage was resolved by 4.30pm.
