In the course of 2024 and early 2025, suspicious letters with white powder arrived at several locations. This included the security of the State, the cabinet of the Minister of Justice, the cabinet of the Minister of the Interior, the Palace of Justice in Brussels and the police court in Kortrijk. The Brussels public prosecutor had the powder analyzed in all letters. The results showed that the letters contain, among other things, Brucine.
“Brucine is a toxic substance that is used, among other things, in combating small rodents, among other things. It can be deadly with intake and can cause irritations in skin contact,” it sounded in a press release.
