Parket appoints expert after a fire in terraced house in Ghent city center with severe smoke development and a lot of damage

A fire raged on Saturday afternoon around 1 pm in a terraced house in Ghent, which led to severe smoke development in the Abrahamstraat. The street, located between the Prinsenhof and Burgstraat, was quickly closed off by the emergency services. The residents of the affected building were immediately evacuated. The fire would have arisen in the kitchen. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has meanwhile appointed an expert to find out the cause.
