Paralympics: Forster only fourth after the first run

Yanqing (AP) – Monoskier Anna-Lena Forster threatens to miss a medal for the first time in her fourth race at the Paralympics in Beijing.

The super combined winner and two-time silver medalist at the China Games sits fourth after the first run of giant slalom in the sitting class. Her gap to the leading Chinese Liu Sitong is already 3.45 seconds. Bronze rank is 2.02 seconds away.

Meanwhile, Andrea Rothfuss can still hope for a medal in her fifth Paralympics. In the standing class, the 32-year-old starts fourth in the second race, 3.21 seconds behind. The Canadian Mollie Jepsen currently has a lead of 1.38 seconds on the athlete from Mitteltal-Obertal on the bronze place. Rothfuss won silver medals in giant slalom at the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 games. Anna-Maria Rieder starts the second round from seventh place.
