Para World Cup: German starters in the gold rush – cross-country skiing – winter sports

Paralympic champion Anja Wicker opened the rain of medals at the Para Snow Sports World Championships in Lillehammer, Norway on Saturday morning. In the biathlon sprint she won her second medal at this year’s WM.

Wicker: “Brutally good skis and good arms”

After cross-country bronze, the 30-year-old paraplegic from Stuttgart prevailed in the biathlon sprint and thus secured her second WM-Title. Wicker missed once to go 1.6 seconds ahead of favorite Oksana Masters of the USA. “Incredible. I only realized on the home stretch that it was about gold. I had brutally good skis and good arms‘ Wicker said.

Anna-Lena Forster wins gold in Super-G

Monoskier Anna-Lena Forster is on the Goldspur. One day after her gold medal in the downhill, the 26-year-old was also unbeatable in the Super-G. In 1:19.91 minutes, she was significantly faster than second-placed Shona Brownlee from Great Britain. The other three starters were eliminated early due to poor visibility and difficult track conditions. “Two world titles, cool, I’m happy about it, but I wasn’t that happy with my ride.”said Forster.

The Super-G also ended in disappointment for Andrea Rothfuss, who again only finished the thankless fourth place in the standing class. Anna-Maria Rieder was sixth.
