The Berlin designer Panos Gotsis, who originally comes from the medical field, will celebrate the opening of his first store on May 2nd, 2026 at the prestigious Kurfürstendamm 200.
The new, 30 square meter store is all about craftsmanship and stability in a fast-moving industry, the label announced on Friday. Gotsis, who gave up his career as a doctor in gastroenterology for fashion, transfers the precision of medicine to his designs. The label relies on materials according to the Circular Fabric Standard as well as exclusive, hand-woven fabrics from the Greek region of Epirus.
The brand has already attracted international attention: costume designers from successful series such as “And Just Like That” and “Emily in Paris” use the Berliner’s designs. For Gotsis, the German capital offers the ideal breeding ground for his vision: “Berlin offers a feeling of freedom and space that allows me to explore my ideas without fear of judgment. The city’s contrasts – roughness next to elegance, tradition next to experiment – reflect my own creative language,” the designer told blogger Douglas Henry Lewis.
The location is particularly symbolic: Gotsis takes over the premises from Barbara Neubauer, who ran the “BIP” store there for over 52 years. For the designer, this is both an obligation and an incentive: “To take over a space from Barbara Neubauer that is so historically important for Berlin retail is a special motivation that fills me with great energy.”
