PANAMA AND ARGENTINA, MEETINGS WITH A FUTURE

Last April, the Authority for the Attraction of Investments and Promotion of Exports (PROPANAMA), together with the Embassy of Panama in Argentina and the CCIAP, with the support of the Association of Importers and Exporters of Argentina (AIERA), chaired Panama Day “Connecting with Panama”, in which two Cooperation Agreements were signed.

The event was held at the Hotel Intercontinental Buenos Aires with more than 80 representatives of companies from the sectors: logistics, finance, tourism and footwear; and from the public and private sphere, from Panama and Argentina.

Within the framework of this mission, a first agreement was signed between the Argentine Investment and International Trade Agency and PROPANAMA, represented respectively by Juan Pablo Yapura and Ambassador Carmen Gisela Vergara, General Administrator of PROPANAMA; and a second agreement between PROPANAMA and Córdoba Acelera, signed by its Manager, Muriel Balbi.

Ambassador Carmen Gisela Vergara, General Administrator of PROPANAMA, pointed out as the objective of the mission, the search for investors in the logistics, digital, food, energy and tourism sectors. And on the other hand, placing the largest exportable offer in international markets, including the area of ​​creative industries.

For her part, Minerva Lara Batista, ambassador of Panama in Argentina, stressed that it is important to get to know each other between both countries, and to expand the possibility of guaranteeing and expanding competitive advantages.

Rafael Zuñiga, from the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama, pointed out that the signing of the Cooperation Agreements establishes a new starting point for the development of investment in both ways: Argentina as an agro-industrial country and Panama as a logistics platform, being so complements and not competition.

On the other hand, the Commercial Mission of Panamanian Entrepreneurs was held in the City of Mendoza, Argentina, in which business ties were strengthened between companies from various sectors. The Panamanian delegation visited the ICT Pole (new technological center of the region), the Aden University and Impsa. In it, a new Agreement and Cooperation Agreements were signed between PROPANAMA, PROMENDOZA and the aforementioned University.

PROPANAMA reaffirmed its commitment to Argentina and the importance of promoting economic growth and innovation between both countries.
