The American Paige Jones spoke to grievances during controls. The world association reacted to the statements of the ski jumper.

There are worrying impressions that the American Paige Jones described: The ski jumper publicly addressed grievances before the summer Grand Prix in Courchevel-and criticized the World Association FIS. The trigger was a physical measurement in which, according to the American, there was inappropriate conditions.

In the “Good Game with Sarah Spain” podcast, the 22-year-old described that no doctor was present before the competition-unlike usual. Instead, a male doctor carried out the examination. “The doctor said he was working in a sub -area of gynecology, but we had to take off ourselves in front of this male doctor,” said Jones.

The FIS offered the option to reject the examination, but according to the ski jumper, this was associated with a clear disadvantage. If you don’t take part, you shouldn’t start either.

At the request of the German Press Agency, the World Association reacted: the inconvenience has been regulated. “We respect the feelings of the athletes and understand that the presence of a male doctor can be perceived as uncomfortable by female athletes,” said the FIS.

It also said: “The FIS recognizes this constructive feedback and hereby undertakes to offer female athletes the opportunity to be examined by a doctor.”
