The major in the men’s field goes to the numbers one in the world, which bend the chingalans. Among the women, Delphi and Gemma increasingly close to the queens of the Josemaria-still ranking
He only resumes talking about Padel, finally. Intended as a “played” padel, because the “spoken” one – which recently took the scene in the tough arm of the iron between the Premier Padel circuit and the players’ association – caused bad damage to this sport. The Padel, in recent years, has embarked on a rapid rise towards the dual objective set by the international federation: increasingly widespread diffusion all over the world and consequent strong candidacy to become an Olympic discipline. But the quarrels between Premier Padel and athletes have resulted in legal battles and boycott tournaments, with consequent anger of the organizers and the disappointment of the public. Nothing better than the Doha tournament, then, to return to focus on the field: the first major of the season – which was giving away 2000 points in the FIP ranking – saw illustrious signatures occupy the highest steps of the podium.

Arturo Cello and Agustin Tapia embraced each other for a long time on the bench, after winning the last point in the final against Federico Chingotto and Ale Galan. The numbers one in the world, unchallenged dominators of the last two vintages, had seemed a little more attacked in the weeks that preceded the Major, given the defeats of Miami (against Lebron-Stupaczuk) and Santiago (at the hands of Cardona-Augsburger). In Qatar, however, the queen couple of the male Padel put things back in clear, advancing until the decisive match against the Chingalan, finally closed 7-6 6-2 without ever risking losing.
female

More under discussion, however, the female throne, despite the great regularity of the number one Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez, fixed customers of the finals in almost all the premier Padel tournaments. The problem for Paula and Ari is that they are becoming unbeatable Delphi Brea and Gemma Triay, “Pareja” who formed this year with the aim of conquering the top of the FIP ranking. Fourth triumph of the season for Delphi and Gemma, obtained with two identical sets in the final: twice below 4-1, Brea-Eriay have reassembled both partials up to double 6-4. Delphi Brea thus becomes the first Argentine player to win a major: icing on the cake in a moment already extraordinary.
