Owner shot at house shocked: ‘Do not sit in cold clothes’

At least ten bullet impacts in a house in Oosterhout, the owner has no idea who is on his conscience. He and his family have been living in another house for a while and was not at home at the time of the shooting. The neighbors, on the other hand, were woken up by the noise last night. “It was very scary, I’m terrified that the perpetrators will come back,” says a local resident.

The homeowner wishes to remain anonymous. At half past nine on Saturday morning he arrived with his family at the Jan van Eijckhof, because someone came to pick up something from the house that is almost empty. When they saw the bullet impacts, they alerted the police. “In the end, we were busy with the investigation of the police until five o’clock this afternoon.”

“My wife and I both work full time, my son just goes to school. We don’t get that much going on.”

They had lived in the house for eighteen years, but recently sold it. The transfer will take place in November, according to the owner. As far as he knows, the sale has nothing to do with the shooting. “We have no quarrels with anyone, no problems with the police. We don’t know where this is coming from.”

He also says that he lives on good terms with the neighbourhood. “We get along normally. My wife and I both work full time, my son just goes to school. We don’t get that much going on.”

“It’s going to be a different night than usual I think.”

Neighbors in the street were also wildly shocked last night. “It was very scary. I’m terrified that the perpetrators will come back,” says a resident who was startled by the shots. “It was a huge noise.”

That also applied to the neighbor of the house that was shot at, the owner knows. “She is a single woman. She heard a noise around two o’clock last night and looked out the window, but saw nothing else.”

In any case, he does not expect to sleep very peacefully tonight. “You don’t get this in the cool clothes sit. It will be a different night than usual I think.”
