Chaymae spread a message about Appa’s disappearance on social media and Nextdoor, she contacted animal shelters, veterinarians, the police and enforcement and distributed more than a hundred flyers.

To her great surprise, she found part of it torn up in a waste bin. “We wonder why someone is taking away our flyers and hope for help or tips. Appa is not just a cat to us, he is family.”
Chaymae is now considering filing a report. A friend’s sister filmed this afternoon how a woman pulled one of the flyers off a lamppost and threw it into the trash can, but it is not known who this woman is and whether she does this often.
