Our journalist and our AI expert take an ‘impossible’ IT exam with Gemini and Claude: did they pass or not?

Can you successfully pass any exam with the help of artificial intelligence? Professor Ruben Verborgh (UGent) claims not, and therefore invited everyone to try it and complete his web development exam. An invitation that our reporter Esther De Leebeeck (33) and our AI expert Wim Hellemans (44) happily accepted. They took their place among the computer science students and placed their fate and their exam in the hands of AI. “If you pass, I asked stupid questions,” the professor says before the exam.
