The Hamburg Commercial and Service Group Otto Group has filled a key post. On Tuesday, the company announced Mahbobeh Sabetnia’s appeal to the group board. She will be responsible for the Technology & Retail department there.

According to the group of companies, Sabetnia will take over her new post on May 19 and will be responsible for the areas of technology, business intelligence, e-commerce and corporate ventures in the future. She succeeds Sebastian Klauke, who left Otto Group at the end of February and has now been presented as the new CEO of the mobility service provider DKV Mobility.

The technology expert comes from Haleon

According to her future employer, Sabetnia brings “over 20 years of experience in dynamic, consumer -oriented industries”. Her professional career includes “extensive expertise in digital transformation, omnichannel retail, fintech and data-based product development,” said Otto Group.

Most recently, the technology expert Chief Tech Product Officer was at the pharmaceutical company Haleon. Before that, she had various management positions at well -known international companies such as Amazon, McDonald’s, HSBC and Mars.

Michael Otto, the chairman of the foundation and shareholder council and honorary chairman of the Otto Group supervisory board, explained the personnel decision. “Mahbobeh Sabetnia has an impressive track record in strategic planning and product innovation and has successfully promoted several transformations,” he said in a statement. “With your deep understanding of data and technology and your focus on inspiring customer experiences, we are convinced that you will play a crucial role in strengthening our ability to innovate.”
