Ostend hospitals to merge into ‘AZ Oostende’

The city council and management have announced this. After a year of intense preparations, the actual, operational merger is now very concrete. The aim is to bring accessible and high-quality care close to patients.

In November next year, the two Ostend campuses will therefore merge into one large hospital. This with one board and one director, each with a federal hospital accreditation behind it. All personnel remain on board, it sounds here.

In the short term, almost 300,000 patient contacts per year are expected here. In that case, AZ Oostende will become one of the four large West Flemish hospitals.
