The new regulations will take more into account surface and number of storeys. An exemption from tax due to illness, accident or old age will also be possible and with a renovation you can get an extra exemption year. There will be a ceiling of the tax from 4 years of vacancy. Finally, the objection committee can now take “force majeure” into consideration in its assessment and this based on existing case law. The regulations will be submitted to the city council in March 2025.
