New this year is the use of smart cups: reusable cups that are digitally linked to the payer. When handing in via a special Smartbin the guarantee is automatically refunded to the right person.
“If you buy three drinks for your friends, all cups will be linked to your payment,” explains Rudi De Kerpel of Goodless Smart Cups. “As soon as one of those cups is returned, you will automatically get your guarantee back.”
