Os Lusitanos wins the charged Amsterdam city derby against VNS United

Os Lusitanos (West) has defeated VNS United (North) in the Amsterdam futsal clash. In a packed Sports Hall Elzenhagen the score was 2-4 for the team from Amsterdam-West. The atmosphere was at times hostile towards Os Lusitanos and the match was also briefly stopped due to the home crowd.

In a very interesting match, the visitors scored 0-1 through Ismail Bouhalhoul. Not much later, VNS equalized again, 1-1. Partly due to the support of its own supporters, the indoor football club from Amsterdam-Noord was playing its strongest phase at that time. However, Os Lusitanos (merger club of Lusitanos and LEBO) handled the opportunities very efficiently in that phase and scored three times in a short time. The intense match seemed to be over for a while, but VNS United did not give up and scored the tying goal just before half time, 2-4.

Extra field player

In the second half, VNS United started excellently and captain Adil Boukris hit the post. After that, Os Lusitanos did not actually have any more problems, despite the fact that the home team tried with an extra field player. Both coaches Najib Taki (VNS United) and Eric de Jongh (Os Lusitanos) thought it was a deserved victory for the team from Amsterdam-West.

To strike

Just before the end with four minutes left on the clock, the match was temporarily stopped. The referees were tired of the singing and chants from the stands. Trainer Eric de Jongh and captain Mo Attaibi of Os Lusitanos regularly had to suffer. Together with the captains, the referees left for the changing rooms for consultation. About ten minutes later the match resumed without any problems. Even afterwards the atmosphere was pleasant in and around the Elzenhagen sports hall.
