Willy Misker-Nakken from New Amsterdam was appointed on Saturday as a member of the Order of Oranje-Nassau in the Zuiderkerk in New Amsterdam. This happened on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the Zuiderkerk Nieuw-Amsterdam/Veenoord Cantorij, in which she is involved from the first moment.
For 57 years, Misker-Nakken has been playing the organ in the churches of Schoonebeek, Emmen and now for more than thirty years in the Zuiderkerk municipality of New Amsterdam-Veenoord. In addition, she has been Cantor of the Zuiderkerk since 1995. In 2012 she was one of the initiators for the 4 May commemoration in New Amsterdam.
The corresponding decorations were put on her by Mayor Eric van Oosterhout.
